We
awoke today to wet pavement and heavier rain moved through during the
mid-morning. After everyone had a chance to get ready, Jimmy was our
chauffer using Ross' truck to take us to The Cracker Barrel for
breakfast. As usual, we had a lot of laughs and we had a great
waitress to take care of us.
After
breakfast, the taxi took us to the Opryland Hotel so we could take in more
of the rally. Some people too further advantage of the training
seminars while others went to different activities. But, all of us
had one thing in common...the vendor area where all of us laid down more
cash for that "safety chrome" other merchandise.
As
the afternoon went on, everyone made their way back to our hotel.
After the electrical team worked to get Ken and Vicki's trailer lights
working, we made plans for supper. Yes, more eating and
laughing! We made reservations at The Caney Fork restaurant for 7:00
but didn't get seated until almost 8:00. But, we did get tables
located in two locations for the 14 of us and had a nice evening.
While
at the restaurant for supper, we found the members of CA1R and got to talk
to them about their member who was injured in the mishap on day 2.
We found that the rider has 7 broken ribs and a condition called
"Flailed Chest". He will be in the hospital longer than
first anticipated. His co-rider had surgery today to insert screws
in a broken ankle she suffered. Along with that, she suffered a
broken forearm. We have enjoyed meeting and getting to know our new
friends but wish it was under other circumstances.
After
supper, everyone spent a little time talking and discussing tomorrow's
schedule before turning in for the night. Tomorrow it the last day
of the rally and the picking at the vendor area are getting slim.
Some of the gang have discussed traveling to Billings, Montana to attend
Wing Ding 29 next year.
