Mike
and Mary Ann Kelly of Orange, CA were traveling alone in Iowa after
attending the Wing Ding when they hit a bad stretch of road. Mike
slowed down as best he could but the
trailer came around them and the bike slid, went high-side and came to
rest up-side-down in a ditch. He's thankful that he had a swivel
hitch on his trailer because the trailer remained upright and prevented
further damage. As luck would have it, shortly after the accident, a bus
came along that happened to have some EMT personnel on it. They performed
rescue on Mike and Mary Ann and got them to a hospital quickly. They've
been home a short time and are still feeling the pain.
Mike suffered a separated shoulder (left one) and three broken ribs. He is still in pain also but not to the extent that Mary Ann is in. She is still in great pain as her leg that's giving her problems.
