Everyone who was at Wing Ding is aware of the mishap that occurred involving Dave and Sharon Etter from Chapter CA1R in Irvine, CA. Those of you that don't know about it, go to the Archived Articles link and pull up Wing Ding Day 1. This is a recent update to their condition. The doctors would not allow Dave to fly so their son drove them back to California which, as you can imagine, was not very comfortable with their injuries. They are resting at home and Dave's ribs are healing but it will take time. Sharon's wrist is in good shape but it'll be a while before she will be able to walk on her injured ankle. She has found that a wheelchair works best for her at this time. Keep these fine folks in your thoughts and we hope to see them at Wing Ding 29 next year. This mishap changed some people's mind about wearing protective clothing. Dave and Sharon were wearing protective pants, jacket, boots and helmet. Sharon didn't have her gloves on and had a small abrasion to her hand. But, consider the additional pain they would have been in had they not been wearing the right clothing.
