June Brings The Official Start of Summer and Continued Fun

We had a nice gathering to show up for the June meeting.  With 43 in attendance, the meeting got kicked off with the Pledge of Allegiance being led by Jackie Ford.  Members of the District Staff, the Chapter Directors for Chapter C and H were in attendance also.

Ray and Kathy Potter, Chapter C Directors, had e-mailed Billy and Robin implicating they could help in recovering Eeyore for us.  When Billy gave Ray the floor, we all thought Eeyore would be back with us.  But, when Ray gave Billy an empty sack, we all just knew we would have to ride to Brunswick next Saturday to rescue him.  As Ray returned to his seat, Kathy revealed that they did have Eeyore and we now have our precious mascot back home.

The new chapter banner was revealed to mostly favorable remarks.  It will be entered into the Banner Contest at the District Rally this month.  The GWRRA motto of 'Friends for Fun, Safety and Knowledge" is depicted along the top of the banner rather than in words.  We feel we have a good chance of winning this year.

Six people were nominated for the Bonehead Award this month.  Some seemed trivial, others dealt with inability to navigate and one had to do with very poor timing at Door Prize time.  But, wouldn't you know that ..... well, you will just need to go to the Awards Link to see who won for the month of June.

Three people were nominated for the Good Samaritan Award this month.  All three helped the Callaways during the ride back from Albany.  Their charging system went bad and they switched batteries with Billy's bike to get them back home.  Please go to the Good Samaritans Link and read more.
