Chapter E Joins In On The BBQ
Members of "E" were among the 40 or so "Wingers" to enjoy the Kick Tire gathering in Lumpkin on Saturday, July 29. What started out to be a dinner ride for the members of Chapter G (Columbus) became a gathering of friends from Warner Robins, GA, Albany, GA, Columbus, GA, Smiths Station, AL, Salem, AL, Sylacauga, AL, Dothan, AL and parts in between.
A good meal of BBQ and ice tea topped off the afternoon of conversation, laughter and fellowship. More laughs were to come when it came time to draw for the door prizes. Susan Larson had prizes that tie in good with the theme of next year's Wing Fling. We seen peace signs and others items that remind us of the 50's and 60's.
After lunch, the "E" gang went to find Westville and who would have know that Lumpkin could have a suburb. So, that led to riding in the country to find our way to Providence Canyon State Park.
Just as we arrived at the park, the rain began so we set around the Visitors Center and talked until the weather improved. The canyon appeared not to impress many of our gang but we still had a good time joking and laughing.
From Providence Canyon, we rode to Warm Springs and had supper at The 27th Grill before continuing the trip home. As we continued toward home, each member dropped off and bid their goodbye as we approached their destination. With a 270 mile ride, it seems that everyone had a good time and look forward to more of the same in the near future.
